Sets of cast-iron cookware could sit in the hibachi or rest on the wooden trivet on the right ledge. For cooking, the pots nestled deep in frames that secured them; when cooling, they rested upon open rings. One set includes a square pot for steaming rice or other food; the set with the round pot could warm sake and has a ring composed of three horses' heads.
