Farmers spread pesticide dust over a wide area with this device, which they wore over the shoulder on a leather strap and gripped with the left hand. Cranking with the right hand turned a propeller inside the round shape held against the body, which forced air into the screw-top powder container where an agitator expelled dust through the nozzle. A long tube attached to the nozzle to direct the dust onto plants and trees.
